Fenigo, a zero-waste lifestyle product company based in Waterloo, Ontario, is seeking submissions from visual artists and/or illustrators to create bags in “Art Edition” series of reusable bags, featuring artworks from across the country.
Fenigo is seeking illustrations from Newfoundland and Labrador that feature iconic Newfoundland and Labrador imagery, including jellybean row houses, puffins, icebergs, etc.
This image will be licensed to Fenigo and printed on reusable bags (manufactured by ChicoBag– high-quality, carbon neutral bags). The bags will then be sold directly to consumers online, and across Canada in brick and mortar stores.
Fenigo will also feature this partnership, and the work of the selected artist, on their social media accounts.
The selected artist will provide Fenigo with a file image that is print-ready, which will be fitted onto the bag by the art department at ChicoBag. The artist will not be expected to make changes to the file once submitted, but may need to weigh in on up to three sets of approvals on the final product before printing. The artist’s name will also appear on the bag.
An example of the finished product is as follows:
Artist Fees:
Selected artists will be paid $313 (5% of the retail price for the first run of 250 bags). Additional print runs will be reimbursed at the same percentage of the retail price, which may be more or less, depending on the retail price for respective print runs.
Artists will also have the option to buy bags at cost to use or sell them themselves.
