Request for Proposals – Professional Fundraiser
Business and Arts NL
Business and Arts NL is preparing to launch a program designed to help small arts nonprofits across Newfoundland and Labrador improve their fundraising. We are seeking a Professional Fundraiser to help participating organizations assess how they can make small, impactful changes to their existing fundraising programs, or build fundraising practices, and deliver educational modules to participating organizations.
Interested candidates are asked to submit a proposal no later than March 15, 2020.
Organizations participating in this program will generally be led by a Board of Directors, and employ 1-3 full time staff members, or operate on a seasonal basis. Many will have moderately formalized fundraising programs, but some may not do any structured fundraising at all. Some will be located in rural areas and others in St. John’s. Participating individuals from these organizations will be a range of professional arts managers and volunteer board members.
The successful applicant will be engaged to co-create and deliver the following components:
- Fundraising orientation day for arts Managers and their boards (20 organizations).
- Participant onboarding for up to 20 organizations: design and implement organizational assessment checklist that identifies priority areas for learning and coaching. Help participants identify up to 3 goals to work towards through the program.
- Monthly educational modules for participants: design and deliver 7 3-hour workshops, each focused on a different element of Fund Development (may include, but not limited to: how to start fundraising; donor stewardship; making a case for support; designing opportunities to ask; evaluating a current fundraiser/plan; fundraising in a small community; etc.) These workshops will be made available via videoconference, and recorded and made available as videos to program participants.
Pending confirmation of funding for this program, the orientation and assessments are expected to begin in the spring of 2020.
Proposals should be sent by email to Amy Henderson, Executive Director, Business and Arts NL at: ahenderson@businessandartsnl.com
