Business & Arts NL is proud to launch a new series of workshops around financial literacy focused on serving the needs of artists, arts organizations and creative entrepreneurs. While we can’t see into the future, we can do our best to prepare for it by getting on the right financial footing. First up is The Importance of Budgeting and Cash Flow Planning with Greg O’Brien of Dunphy Molloy & Associates, who will provide a crash course in budgeting fundamentals. Greg will review how to put together a working budget and manage your cash flow to help you oversee your finances personally and professionally. These tools will also help you tackle any unexpected “tight squeeze” moments that may arise financially helping you to not only survive but thrive.
Many artists and creative entrepreneurs have varied income sources with inconsistent pay periods, which can be stressful. And with the unpredictability that comes with COVID-19, understanding how to manage your finances is more important than ever. Budgets are a spending plan that is based on money coming in (revenue) and money going out (expenses), providing you with an essential tool to help track your financial health overall and manage day to day expenses and cash flow. Your budget, along with an effective cash flow plan, will help you schedule when you can spend money and when you can expect to make money.
There will be opportunities to ask questions. This workshop will be hosted via Zoom. A link to the event will be shared with your registration confirmation email.
