Have you ever hosted an event and had nobody show up? Sometimes, it’s the planning that’s the easy part – spreading the word and getting attention, not so much! With so many events going on all the time, knowing how to craft a compelling press release is key to ensuring the above scenario doesn’t happen to you.
Join Jen White and Amanda Molloy of the CBC on Wednesday, October 7 to learn how to write a press release that cuts through the clutter. This workshop is for individuals and organizations interested in learning how to promote an event, festival, or project to the media.
Sharing their perspectives as communications producer and journalist, the workshop will address:
– What makes a good story?
– Who is my audience?
– When should I contact the media?
– Where should I send it?
– How should I share and follow-up?
There will be opportunities to ask questions. This workshop will be hosted via Zoom. A link to the event will be shared with your registration confirmation email.
