It’s that time of year once again – the Christmas tunes are ringing out, the festive lights are going up and the 2021 Local Holiday Gift Guide is here!
We are so thrilled to release another digital catalogue, overflowing with gorgeous items lovingly handcrafted by local artists across Newfoundland and Labrador. Whether you’re looking for a gift for a friend, family member, co-worker (or even yourself!), we’re sure you’ll find something special right here.
This year, we’ve made our interactive guide easier to navigate with the addition of a “return to menu” button at the bottom of each page, which is linked to our main menu page. This gives you the option of browsing the guide, or jumping to a specific seller or category.
Whether you’re in the market for a handcrafted Christmas wreath, a traditional “Nan blanket,” a piece of pottery with a bit of sauciness thrown in, or a cozy hand-knit pair of socks, we’ve got you covered. Or if you’d like to gift an experience (like an art class or a performance), we’ve got a few ideas for you as well.
When it comes to talent and creativity, our local artists and arts groups have got it in droves, and you’ll see just some of that on display as you peruse the guide (we recommend accompanied by a hot cup of tea).
Speaking of local talent, we’d like to give a special shout-out to artist and designer Krista Power, who created the lovely floral graphics that you’ll see throughout the guide.
We encourage you to shop and support local artists and businesses this holiday season, and as craft fairs and markets start popping up again, there are many opportunities to do that. But if you live in a place with fewer options, we hope you’ll use our gift guide to help you find local creations you’ll love, while supporting the creative economy of our province.
Once again, we thank all of you for your support, and a big thanks to all of the talented artists and creators who are a part of this year’s guide. We hope you’ll love it as much as we do. (Click here to view.)
