An investment in local arts is an investment in our province’s future.

In 2021, we created Engaging Community and Arts NL (ECANL) to support artists and arts organizations in Newfoundland and Labrador. Your donations have already made a tremendous impact on our programs, including the Business Workshops for Artists (BWA).

Why Your Support Matters:

Artists bring light to our communities with their creativity—whether through music, performance, visual arts, or storytelling. But the process of creating art goes far beyond talent; it requires practical knowledge, from budgeting and marketing to networking and business management. That’s where ECANL steps in—equipping artists with the tools and knowledge they need to thrive.

Since 2017, we’ve helped over 2,100 artists through 85+ workshops led by 110+ community presenters, offering essential resources and professional development to help them build sustainable artistic careers.

How You Can Help:

  • Monthly donations: Your steady support ensures that workshops and resources are always available to artists.

  • One-time gifts: Help fund specific workshops and community initiatives.

  • Other ways to support: You can contribute in other meaningful ways: become a member of Business & Arts NL, join our mailing list, or become a volunteer to help artists and arts organizations. 

Your Impact:

  • More resources: 80% of surveyed artists want templates and tools they can keep and apply themselves. Your support will help us create and distribute these valuable resources.

  • Financial literacy: 47% of this year’s participants had never attended a financial literacy workshop. Your contribution enables us to provide essential training that empowers artists to manage their finances and grow their careers.

  • High satisfaction: 95% of workshop attendees found our sessions “very helpful”. Help us deliver more support.
