Ask an Expert is a new initiative designed to support artists, arts workers, and creative organizations who need clear, practical answers to specific questions. Not every challenge requires a long-term mentorship match, and not every question fits neatly into a workshop. Sometimes you simply need guidance on one topic, in the moment, from someone who knows the terrain.

Ask an Expert creates a pathway for that support.

We invite our community to submit focused, actionable questions like:
• What’s the best time to post on social media?
• Do algorithms really matter?
• What is the first step to diversify my revenue streams?
• What’s the most effective way to engage my board?
• How do I communicate impact to funders?

Business and Arts NL reviews the submissions and selects common questions that resonate broadly across the sector. We then engage a trusted expert, someone with deep experience in marketing, fundraising, governance, partnerships, or nonprofit leadership, to provide a clear, accessible answer.

Responses may be shared as written guidance, short videos, or step-by-step tips, and will be featured across our website, newsletter, and social platforms.

Ask an Expert is designed to build capacity through shared knowledge. By connecting real questions to local expertise, we’re creating a resource that supports the entire arts community one answer at a time.
