Julie Lewis
The Sugarloaf
SUGARLOAF PATH
For this piece, the style of sedimentary rock and whimsical desserts is tied into one as a functional sculpture. Incorporating berry picking, relaxing, slowing down, and having “family time at the table” outdoors, capturing the local culture and ecosystem. Learn more here.

Robert Hengeveld
Altogether Knotty
Quidi Vidi Village Artisan Studios
Two lengths of steel pipe are bent and twisted to create three unique knots. The twirling yellow forms of Altogether Knotty are reflective of the yarn, netting, or ropes that contribute to the livelihood of so many who work off the Quidi Vidi wharf and in the surrounding area. Learn more here

Kevin-Barry Martin
Moratorium Cod Drying
The Inn By Mallard Cottage
I wanted to represent the rich history of Quidi Vidi’s fishing village by linking it to the present. Moratorium Cod is more than a sculpture. It is a statement on the food fishery that was the heartbeat of our island not so long ago. Learn more here.

Ian Gillies and Marc Fiset
The Fishery
The Wharf
This sculpture was born at the inaugural Burning Rock Festival on Fogo Island in 2021. This annual festival, created by Ian and Marc, brings together artists of many mediums for a two-week summer event of creating art and food. Learn more here.

Iceberg in a Bottle
Quidi Vidi Brewery
Quidi Vidi Brewery needed a permanent docking gate for aesthetic and operational functions. Quidi Vidi Brewery is associated with many brands, but none more recognizable than the iconic blue bottle of Iceberg Beer. Iceberg in a Bottle is a playful interpretation of that. Learn more here
