Economy

The fifth dimension of the framework is the economy. This dimension encompasses all the indicators that contribute to the economic development of the community(ies)/region/province in which the organization operates. This dimension is directly linked to economic impact, as well as impact on community health and well-being.

Indicators within this dimension include but are not limited to:

  • Tourism value ($) generated through spin-off/multiplier effect, including

    • Accommodations

    • Eating out

    • Ticket sales to other events

Employment 

  • Number of jobs within the organization (direct employment)

  • Number of indirect jobs as a result of the organization’s work

  • Number of employable hours provided to vulnerable populations

Revenue Generation

  • Value ($) in sales of goods

  • Value ($) in sales of services

  • Fund development / Fundraising / (Inbound) Philanthropy (See Dimension 3 The Organization for more)

Granting/(Outbound) Philanthropy

  • Value ($) in non-repayable grants supplied to other organizations

  • Value ($) in repayable loans supplied to other organizations

  • Value ($) of commissions or payment for services rendered for external artists/organizations

  • Value ($) of grants given to other organizations

    • Range of categories/types of recipients of grants
