Jillian Keiley has directed opera, musicals, children’s theatre, puppet theatre, and large-scale installations across Canada and internationally. She teaches at the National Theatre School in Montreal and holds honorary doctorates from Memorial University and York University. She received the Canada Council John Hirsch Prize and the 2004 Siminovitch Prize for Directing.
Jill is the founding Artistic Director of Artistic Fraud of Newfoundland which turns 30 in 2025. In 2012, she became Artistic Director of English Theatre at the National Arts Centre (NAC) in Ottawa. She has directed for 7 years at the Stratford Festival and finished her tenure leading the NAC English Theatre in 2022. Her sold out production of Come From Away based in Gander was remounted again this year.
